Zombie Hunter was a custom 2008 Ford F-150 Ram monster truck owned by FELD Motorsports. It was driven by several drivers throughout its brief career, with its primary drivers being Lee O'Donnell and Myranda Cozad.

History[]

Zombie Hunter made its first public appearance on January 3, 2015 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida with Lee O'Donnell behind the wheel. During its debut season, O'Donnell would win the freestyle competition the following weekend in San Antonio, and would later be invited to compete in Monster Jam World Finals XVI.

During the qualifying portion of the World Finals, Zombie Hunter lost control, and flipped sideways, with the truck coming inches from making contact with the dirt. This would ultimately be considered by fans as the "first monster truck barrel roll." Meanwhile, O'Donnell and the truck would be eliminated in round 1 of racing by Charlie Pauken in Grave Digger, and finished twenty-second in freestyle. Sometime after the World Finals, Zombie Hunter would receive a minor alteration to its design, receiving a minigun turret atop of its roof.

After O'Donnell moved to the recently-introduced VP Racing Fuels' The Mad Scientist, it was later announced that rookie driver Myranda Cozad would take over the driving duties for Zombie Hunter, as the truck also received an updated design, complete with additional weapons. However, Cozad would drive the truck exclusively in arena events, with fill-in drivers such as Joe Sylvester and Steve Koehler driving the truck in stadium events. Zombie Hunter would eventually be retired from competition at it's last show in Austin, TX, as Cozad would move to Scooby-Doo for the following season.

Trivia[]

  • Zombie Hunter was absent from the 2015 Monster Jam Souvenir Yearbook, and was neither announced nor revealed to the public until its debut show, with its name being received just days prior.
  • The design used for Zombie Hunter originated from a failed sponsorship attempt by Monster Jam with Ram Trucks.
  • The 2016 design of Zombie Hunter was never seen fully assembled in competition until its last event at Austin in April of that year.
  • The meaning behind the initials "ZH1-X13", as seen on the truck's side panels, is currently unknown. Although it is possible that the "ZH1" portion stands for "Zombie Hunter 1".
