Vern House is a monster truck driver . He has driven multiple trucks over the course of his career, but is best remembered for driving River Rat and Dysfunctional. He was supposed to drive Twisted Terror, but it was cancelled.
Monster truck career[]
Early years (2012-18)[]
House first began his driving career in 2012, when he joined Heavy Hitter Racing to drive River Rat. He served as the full-time driver for the truck until 2014, when he stepped away from full-time competition. After driving multiple trucks on select occasions, including War Wizard and Monster Patrol, he would return to driving River Rat for several shows, before the truck was converted into Dawg Pound in 2016. House would continue to drive the truck until his departure from the team by the end of the season. Following his departure, he would serve as a fill-in driver for several teams, including Badlands Racing, where he drove Dirt Crew for select shows.
Vernon Motorsports (2018-present)[]
In 2018, House established his own team, Vernon Motorsports, after acquiring the previous Wild Thang chassis from Doug Charles. He would later create his own truck, Dysfunctional, using said chassis. The truck began competition as early as 2019, competing in the Full Throttle Monster Trucks Tour. He would later begin competing in Monster Truckz the following year. In 2023, he debuted Animal House.
