Tropical Thunder is a monster truck owned by Sam Xuereb from Hazelwood, Victoria, Australia and is driven by Michael Xuereb. It is the teammate truck to his father, Sam Xuereb's Devil's Taxi. The truck was originally owned by Vic Butler.

History[]

In 2000, Guy Wood's Tropical Thunder is sold to Vic Butler out of Australia.

In 2003, Vic Butler passes away. The truck is sold to Sam Xuereb.

In 2004, Jozo Grizic starts driving the truck alongside Sam. It is also used for a Daily Juice commercial.

In 2007, Sam's son Michael starts driving the truck on and off with Jozo.

In 2016, the original chassis is sold to become Tassie Devil/Tom Cat. The old Tassie Devil/Avenger (Aussie) chassis in return was sold to Sam and becomes the new chassis.

In 2018, Tropical Thunder and Michael attempt to break the Guinness World Record for longest wheelstand in a monster truck, along with his father Sam in Devil's Taxi.

In 2019, the truck competes in the Monster Truck Masters event in Darwin.

Trivia[]

  • Ironically, the truck's old chassis from 2000 was sold and became the new Tassie Devil chassis, while the old Tassie Devil chassis, which was also sold, is now the current Tropical Thunder by the Xuereb's.
