Triple B Motorsports is a monster truck team owned by James Trantina III out of St. Cloud, Minnesota and co-operated by Danny Torgerson. They are one of, if not the largest independently-owned monster truck team in the United States with 17 total monster trucks and 20 monster truck names. They also own the Attitude Adjuster ride truck and Granite City Motor Park.

History[]

2010’s[]

Triple B owner James Trantina first got into monster trucks with the purchase of Holy Roller in 2016, which turned into Tarantula, but was eventually sold. This was followed by the purchase Rat Nasty in 2017, which was also eventually sold. For much of the late 2010's, the team would be working behind the scenes in the industry and putting on large independent monster truck shows in Bemidji and Elk River, Minnesota.

2020[]

In 2020, the team would purchase Granite City Motor Park in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, where they would host a monster truck show featuring all of Vaters Motorsports.

2021[]

In 2021, the team purchased Master of Disaster, Bearly Tame, the Pretty Wicked chassis, and a ride truck from Rettew Racing. That same year, the team also purchased the entire USA-1 operation from Everett Jasmer, which includes both original USA-1 monster trucks. The team's first USA-1 truck would debut in the Fall of the same year on the Master of Disaster chassis and used an original fiberglass body.

2022[]

In January of 2022, the team purchased the entire Paul Shafer Motorsports team from Paul Shafer, including all trucks, haulers, and names. In the following months, they would purchase the Nitro Menace and Jail Bird trucks as well as Wolf's Head and Xtermigator, but retain the names of none of them. This would lead to the names Lone Wolf and Boss Gator being revived for said trucks. Nitro Menace would become the team's first Carolina Crusher and Jailbird would become the team's first Monster Patrol. The partially-assembled Pretty Wicked would become a new USA-1, sporting a white trophy truck body. The team would host four separate monster truck events at Granite City Motor Park during the year, consisting entirely of trucks owned by or associated with the team. These shows marked the debut of both Wild Thang and Cadaver for the team. Triple B would host the same shows at the speedway in 2023 and 2024. In late September, they would launch their own website (https://triplebmotorsports.com/), featuring all competing trucks/schedules. In December, they would purchase the Quad Chaos/Holeshot name and body from Jerry Beck as well as two more trucks from Razin Kane Monster Trucks, including the Ice Cream Man name. The team would debut their own versions of Quad Chaos and Ice Cream Man the following January.

2023[]

In January, the team would debut an all-black Bear Foot, inspired by BJ Johnson's 2001-2 Bear Foot scheme under Paul Shafer Motorsports. In April, the team debuted the 30th Anniversary edition of Monster Patrol, which would run through the rest of the year. In July, the team purchased Robosaurus and debuted their version of Rampage. That same year, new Bearly Tame and Carolina Crusher bodies would debut, inspired by classic schemes that the trucks previously ran.

2024[]

Danny Torgerson would become a business partner with James Trantina after Triple B's trucks had been regularly competing at Torgerson's events since 2022. Torgerson would acquire of the entire fleet of Triple B trucks and facilitate their appearances and schedules, as well as providing drivers and crew members of his own, with James maintaining ownership of the trademarks for the names, as well as Mud Patrol, two USA-1's, and Robosaurus. In August, the team would debut a new Wild Thang on the white USA-1 trophy truck body, as there was already a USA-1 truck at the same event. At the same time, James Trantina would announce his departure from the monster truck industry due to frustrations toward fans, employees, the team's budget, and others working in the industry, but implied that Triple B would continue operating under its current power structure.
