Monster Trucks Wiki

Traxxas T-Maxx (otherwise known simply as T-Maxx) was a custom Ford F-150 monster truck owned by Sudden Impact Racing. It was sponsored by Traxxas and served as the life-sized counterpart to the Traxxas T-Maxx R/C truck. The truck was driven by various drivers throughout the course of its career and made it to many televised Monster Jam events.

History[]

2005[]

T-Maxx debuts in Houston under Sudden Impact Racing on the former Pure Adrenaline chassis originally owned by Randy Brown. Former Sudden Impact owner and driver John Seasock takes control of T-Maxx for its debut season. In its television debut in New Orleans, John destroys the truck in qualifying, crashing after his run and ripping off the left front wheel and knuckle, this putting the truck out for the rest of the show. John continues to pilot T-Maxx through the season, as well as events in the off-season.

2006[]

T-Maxx receives a new RC body style, making it resemble the RC vehicle it was based on more closely. John would drive the truck in Pontiac before returning to Sudden Impact the following week. In Atlanta, Carl Van Horn would take over as the new driver for T-Maxx, in turn having switched from Sudden Impact, which he drove the previous week in Des Moines.

Carl performs well in the season, winning racing at the second Houston event.

After the season ends, John would leave Sudden Impact Racing altogether, later going on to drive Batman for FELD Motorsports. In the off-season, T-Maxx's body is updated slightly, being more slimmed-down and featuring more blue in its paint job. Bruce Haney would drive the truck during the Extreme Monster Truck Nationals Tour and Alex Blackwell would have his turn at inaugural Sanderson AMP Tour. Alex also drove the truck in Mobile for Monster Jam.

2007[]

Jon Zimmer joins Sudden Impact Racing and he and Carl share driving duties for T-Maxx, altering between shows with both of them getting television appearances. Sean Duhon would also drive the truck in the off-season and John Killinger would drive it in Stafford Springs.

2008[]

T-Maxx competes in its final season. That year, the truck runs an Amsoil sponsorship on occasions using an alternate name, being "Amsoil T-Maxx". Carl returns being the sole driver as Jon moves to drive Sudden Impact, the team truck. Sean Duhon would also drive the truck, competing and winning that year’s No Limits Monster Truck Championship. After SIR’s sponsorship with Traxxas expired, the truck would be succeeded by Cult Energy Activator the following year.
