Monster Trucks Wiki

Tomfoolery Motorsports is an independent monster truck team owned by Matt Pagliarulo that operates out of Deltona, Florida since 2015.

History[]

2015[]

The team’s flagship truck, Jester, made its debut on January 3rd, in Miami, Florida. The team would remain a single truck team for the time being.

Staged arrest incident[]

On September 17th, the team posted a picture on their official Instagram of a crew member appearing to get arrested after the truck was supposedly driving down a public road illegally in El Paso, Texas. (Even with trailer tires, monster trucks are not street legal due to lack of registration). The image information said that the crew member voluntarily got arrested all so driver Matt Pagliarulo could perform that weekend.

2016[]

Jester would debut a green "St. Patrick's Day" paint scheme due to the Young Guns Shootout taking place on said day.

In April, it was revealed that the "El Paso arrest" actually didn't happen at all, but was rather a staged image done for laughs. The photo was taken at the event itself in El Paso and the officer in the photo began talking to the team and asking questions about the truck. It was at that point that they decided to stage the photo and post it on social media as a joke. Tomfoolery Motorsports commented on the story in regard to its fictitious origins:

"Although the above story sounds like it could possibly be true, it is in fact 150% not true. This photo was taken at an event we attended in El Paso and the officer in the photo was talking to us and asking questions about our truck. It was at that point that we thought we would stage this photo and post it on our social media pages as a joke. So let the record show that the "the El Paso Incident" is as real as the existence of Unicorns."

2017[]

Jester would begin running the green design from the 2016 Young Guns Shootout full-time, even joking about giving the truck a "shave".

2018[]

A new purple Jester would make its debut at World Finals XIX, and later run in Nashville. Besides those two events, the truck continued to run the green paint scheme for the rest of the year.

In the summer, Jester would receive a new chassis, with the previous one being converted into Kraken, Jester's first teammate truck, driven by one of Matt's sons, Nick Pagliarulo.

2019[]

In May, Jester debuted a new blue paint scheme at World Finals XX.

2021[]

The team would acquire the Excaliber and Michigan Ice Monster names from Tim Bush and Brett Engleman respectively.

2022[]

Kraken debuted a blue squid design at World Finals XXI. Jester would also debut a new red design at the same show. The team would also debut a new truck at World Finals, Wreckreation. One of Matt's other sons, Michael (Mike) Pagliarulo, made his driving debut that year in Pensacola, driving Jester.

2023[]

In June, Michigan Ice Monster made its competition debut at the Monsters of Metal event in Maryland, and was driven by Mike.

In July, Excaliber made its first appearance since the team acquired the name at World Finals XXII, and would soon begin full-time competition under Chuckie Pauken and Mike Pagliarulo. The truck made its Monster Jam return in August, with Mike behind the wheel.

In December, Wreckreation made its first competition appearance at the Freedom Factory Tour of Destruction, and was driven by Matt Pagliarulo.

2024[]

Mike fills in for Cole Venard by driving Black Pearl in Orlando and Jacksonville, due to Cole being injured after a failed reverse backflip attempt. Mike would also fill in for his brother in Kraken when Nick took January off with his wife when she had a baby. A darker version of the red Jester body would temporarily run beginning in Miami, due to extensive damage to the original red body.

In April, an alter ego to Jester named Freedom Flyer, which was themed after Cleetus McFarland, would run at the Freedom Factory event, the "Freedom 500", and was run on Michigan Ice Monster.

In May, Kraken debuts a new pink/purple design at World Finals XXIII. Jester would also debut a new silver scheme.

In September, Matt's daughter, Brooke Pagliarulo made her driving debut in Jester in Tappahannock, Virginia.

In November, another Cleetus McFarland themed alter ego named Mullet, which was based off of his dragster of the same name. It would debut as part of a Freedom Factory event, with Matt behind the wheel.

2025[]

Matt and the team will celebrate their 10th anniversary. Jester was supposed to run different designs throughout the year, but the gray body will be run all year instead. This was done so the team would save money & storage space. Mike will make his full first quarter debut in Excaliber, which will be the trucks first full Monster Jam season since 2012. Former Velociraptor driver David Olfert becomes a crew member in February, but for a brief time. Later in April, Mike would reveal the a flashback body scheme from 1987 and would compete in Denver, Lake Havasu, where he would sweep show 1, Tremonton & Inglewood. Excaliber makes its World Finals debut in Salt Lake City. Brooke Pagliarulo unveils her new truck at said event.
