Taurus 3 is the third Taurus chassis built by Jack Willman and ran from 1989-2012. This was the first tube chassis built by Dave Cook and Jack Willman.

History[]

The truck was built in 1988 and would debut the following year. The truck competed alongside Taurus 2 in Kansas City, MO. Willman's son would be the main driver of this chassis. Both Taurus 2 and 3 would also begin running Honeycomb Cereal sponsorships which came with the iconic yellow wheel covers.

In 1998, Jack Willman retired and sold off the chassis to Dave Turpen which competed as "Taurus the Bull" until 2001 when it was converted into American Dream and ran it until 2004.

In 2005, the chassis was sold to Michael Vaters and converted into Weapon 1.

In 2006, the chassis was sold to the late Tim Mente, and converted into the first Storm Damage.

In 2010, the chassis is converted into Hurricane Force after Storm Damage received a new chassis. The truck also briefly ran as Tow Mater.

2011 would mark the last year that Hurrican Force would run on this chassis as it would receive a new chassis the following year. The chassis was then retired from competition and the truck was put into storage for 5 years.

In 2017, the chassis was reacquired by Vaters after someone wanted to sell it to people in the mega truck industry, and he feared they would convert it into a mega truck (similar to Grave Digger 3). He would have the truck restored. It's currently on display at the International Monster Truck Hall of Fame, and even made an appearance at the World Finals XIX pit party which coincided with the debut of Vaters' revival of Taurus.
