Monster Trucks Wiki

When Pablo was looking to debut in Grave Digger, he was given Koberna's old body from Grave Digger #4. This led to the misconception (to anyone on the East Coast who never saw #4 to know the difference), that Pablo was running the real #4, despite him debuting after #8. I take it they didnt want to number Pablo as #9 since 1.) The truck wasnt built by Dennis, 2.) The truck wasnt intended to run longterm, and 3.) #9 was already under construction as a Ride Truck. So he ran the #4 body and became the second Grave Digger #4. Keep in mind this was the team's first time handling the numbering of a Grave Digger converted from a seperate truck. If it was ever truly referred to as #5, it would have been after 1.) Pablo's relationship with Grave Digger became long term, 2.) It had to be established that this truck was not #4, 3.) #9 again was already being built as a Ride Truck, and 4.) There was the ongoing argument of whether or not #5 was to be considered the same as #2 or not (because if it was, they needed a truck to fill the slot of #5), and so, that's what got us here. This is not #4, nor is it #5. People who beleive #5 is #2 will try and say this truck fills the slot of #5 (these people are wrong). People who recognize that #2 and #5 are seperate entities, and who also recognize this truck ran Koberna's old body, will see how recognizing this as a misnumbered #4 makes more sense. The reality is, this truck is more of a Grave Digger 8.5, but I dont beleive it would be as widely socially accepted to call it that, thanks to how long its been known on this wiki otherwise as the false #5. Fun fact: when Pablo retired, Jim Shea, the guy who paints all the Grave Digger bodies, painted a trophy fish with a Digger design as a retirement present for Pablo that listed his first truck as #4. See his Instagram here. Oknazevad (talk) 23:43, August 12, 2020 (UTC)
