T-Maxxx is a custom off-road 2016 Toyota Tundra monster truck owned and driven by David Tucker out of Springfield, Oregon. Since its debut in 2012, the truck has been known for being the first of its kind to utilize fully-independent four-wheel drive suspension, featuring a suspension that is featured on most remote-controlled vehicles.
History[]
2010[]
Tucker started constructing T-Maxxx in the winter.
2012[]
This year marked the truck’s debut. At the time of its debut, the truck featured a body that was completely made of aluminum, which was originally painted chrome. Tucker chose an aluminum body as he thought it was easier to repair.
2016[]
The truck would debut a blue design.
2018[]
T-Maxxx would receive a new design, featuring a fiberglass 2016 Toyota Tundra trophy truck. Said design was first unveiled at the Monster Jam World Finals XIX pit party in March.
2021[]
In August, T-Maxxx was performing at the Clark County Fairgrounds, when one of the front wheels broke off the truck, and rolled into the concession area, luckily not hitting anybody. Later that month, Tucker would be involved in a highway accident. The accident was caused by the hauler's brakes failing. This would cause the hauler to crash down a ravine. The crash would severely damage the hauler and truck. Tucker would face minor injuries, but his wife would face major injuries, being airlifted to the hospital after breaking 7 ribs, vertebrae, and her sternum. His niece would setup a GoFundMe page for hospital expenses and damages. The truck would then be fully rebuilt and would return to competition in October.
2022[]
A similar incident would occur during the intros at Cottage Grove Speedway where David nosedived and lost a tire. He would be out for the entire show.
2023[]
A new wrap design debuts.
2024[]
The truck debuts new yellow rims. In July, Tucker would post photos on Facebook of a new taco truck body under construction for the truck.
Trivia[]
- The truck is 14 feet wide compared to the standard 12 feet. Due to this, the truck's planetaries have to be removed when going onto the hauler. The wide stance has also prevented the truck from competing at events due to the venue's entrances being thinner than the truck.
- It was originally built to compete as a mud truck once a year at one of Tucker's local events.
- The truck makes a special appearance in Marty Garza‘s book, Monster Truck Technology. The book questions the truck to be the first stage 5 truck.
- The truck's soft suspension and lack of bounce prevent it from doing two-wheel moves.
