The Penda Points Series started in 1991 and ended in 1997. The Penda Points Series was the biggest monster truck league in the 1990's. It was know for having open qualifying, sometimes over 30 trucks would be at one event. It was also known for its record setting runs breaking the 5 second mark on straight line drag racing. Bear Foot still holds the record at 4.59. The series was known for being held at various 4 Wheel Jamboree events, which were hosted primarily at state and county fairgrounds in Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Tennessee and Florida. It would only host one stadium event per season, usually the series opener at the Hoosier Dome/RCA Dome. It was also know for some very intense crashes, which were heavily featured on the Shake Battle & Roll home video series. Most recognized were Snake Bite crashing into a newly built concession shed in Union Grove, Wisconsin and Bigfoot hitting the wall at the RCA Dome. It was the basis for the game Metal Crunch/Heavy Metal Trucks, which would become Monster Truck Madness, where it was prominently featured in the traditional racing portion of the game, and clips from the series used in cut scenes. Team Bigfoot was the most dominate team on the series, having three trucks normally competing at each event. Due to a stipulation about running more than one truck with the same name, the team would create Snake Bite. In 1993, they created Wildfoot, and later use the sponsorship from Power Wheels as a loophole in the name. Bear Foot's sponsorship with Dodge would allow them to run more trucks as well, creating the Dodge Express and later Rampage. Taurus was rather dominate in 1991 and 1992, but failure to win the championship would have them withdraw and focus primarily on USHRA and USA Motorsports events. Despite winning the first year, Carolina Crusher would simply be a consistent runner.
