Scott Pontbriand (born July 24th, 1967) is a retired monster truck driver out of Sturbridge, Massachusetts. He was most notable for driving Grave Digger from 2002-2004.
Early life/career[]
Before Scott got involved with monster trucks, he was a firefighter for almost a decade. He contacted Calvin Carrington who had added a second truck to his fleet and asked Scott to drive for Wildfire Motorsports, piloting trucks such as Undertaker and Austin 3:16, he would meet Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Undertaker (who he would teach how to drive a monster truck in Waco, Texas).
From 1999-2001, Scott drove for Paul Shafer Motorsports, driving Bear Foot, Ground Pounder and Monster Patrol.
In 2001, Scott drove Gator in a Toyota commercial.
In 2002, Scott became the main driver for Grave Digger 8, which he drove until the truck's retirement the following year. His most prominent appearance was driving Grave Digger 14 to a racing victory on a 2004 Around the USHRA segment of Monster Jam in Vancouver, BC. Although he would not get a fully televised appearance in Grave Digger, he would get a televised appearance driving Monster Mutt in Montreal that year.
Scott left the Grave Digger team after 2004 and would serve as a relief driver, driving Monster Mutt again for Bobby Zee and also Blue Thunder before retiring in 2005. It is possible that he was planned to drive Blue Thunder full time as he is featured as a driver of said truck the official 2005 yearbook, however this never happened for unknown reasons.
In 2024, Scott made an appearance at a Monster Jam event in Indianapolis.
