Ryan LaCosse (born March 19th, 1984) is a monster truck commentator out of Manteno, Illinois. He initially served as a commentator for Monster Jam from 2014-2019 before moving to Monster Truck Throwdown. He covered numerous high profile Monster Jam events and tours, including the Fox Sports 1 Championship Series, World Finals and the Path of Destruction Tour. In 2025, Ryan returned to commentating at Monster Jam shows.

​Career[]

Ryan began hosting for Monster Jam in 2014, mainly working as a pit reporter. He did some solo events in Dayton and Philadelphia.

In 2015, Ryan began hosting the Fox Sports 1 Championship Series and Path of Destruction Tour. He was one of the hosts at the World Finals alongside Scott Douglass.

In 2016, Ryan commentated on the Fox Sports 1 Championship Series and hosts World Finals XVII.

In 2017, Ryan became the main commentator for FS1 following the retirement of Scott Douglass. LaCosse continued hosting live events on the FS1 East Series and World Finals.

In 2018, Ryan hosted on Monster Jam Stadium Tour 1.

In 2019, Ryan was replaced by Scott Jordan as main commentator after Monster Jam left FS1 and moved to NBCSN. He moved back to just hosting live events, this year on Monster Jam Stadium Tour 2.

In 2020, Ryan moved to a backup host position to do more extensive work at Best Buddies Illinois. He hosts in Minneapolis as an in-stands host and Rosemont as a third host.

In 2021, Ryan began hosting for Monster Truck Throwdown.

In 2024, Ryan returned to Monster Jam as a fill-in announcer, announcing the Grand Rapids, Macon, Green Bay & Cincinnati events, and later appeared on an episode of Inside Monster Jam.

In 2025, Ryan returned to Monster Jam on the Arena Championship Series West. He also did shows on the central arena & one of the stadium tours.

Trivia[]

  • Ryan was best known for his constant mentions of BKT tires as opposed to just saying "tire" which resulted in the phrase: "Back on all four BKT tires!" becoming synonymous with LaCosse, and has become a famous quote among the community.
