Rod Wood (no relation to Guy Wood) (Born December 21st, 1965) is a retired monster truck owner and driver out of Tuscon, Arizona. He was the driver of McGruff. He competed in many Monster Jam Phoenix/Glendale shows.
Career[]
Before getting into monster trucks, Rod served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, he crewed for the American Made 1 and No Problem! Rod started driving in 1993, debuting McGruff based off the character of the same name.
In 2006, Rod drove other trucks such as El Perro Loco, Obsession, and 24/7 in 2006, when a McGruff body wasn't ready yet.
In 2007, Rod got his first fully televised appearance in Phoenix.
In 2018, Rod made his final appearance in Monster Jam in the October Glendale show.
