Rob Speak (born March 14, 1972) is a driver out of Skegness, Lincolnshire, England. He is the current owner and driver of Big Thunder.
Career[]
Before monster trucks, Rob was a racing driver. He began driving in Ministox at age 13 in 1985 before moving into BriSCA Formula 2 Stock Cars in 1988 at age 16, where he won eight world championships over his career.
In 1999, Rob began racing in BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Cars until 2002 before returning to them in 2012. He also had a brief stint in Ascar from 2001 until 2004. He retired from racing in 2016 and in September of that year, he became the new owner of the Skegness Raceway.
In 2023, Rob purchased The Monster Experience online and converted it into Big Thunder. He made his monster truck driving debut in April of that year. Rob continues to operate Big Thunder out of the Skegness Raceway.
In 2024, Rob competed at the UK Monster Truck Nationals, his first event outside of Skegness Raceway.
