Robert "Rob" French (born August 3rd, 1966) is a retired monster truck owner and driver out of Boston, Georgia. He was the second owner of Wildfire Motorsports from 2006-2013 and was the driver of Sniper, Iron Horse, Project X, Twisted Dragon, Scorpion, Redneck Barbie, Full Throttle, and Wildfire.

Career[]

Rob began driving in 2001, driving Sniper, the truck would be involved in an infamous fire in Miami caused by the transmission.

In 2002, Rob renamed Sniper out of respect following a series of sniper attacks in Washington D.C. that October. He then sold the chassis to Ryan Rice and became Incinerator.

In 2004, Rob began driving Iron Horse. He also drove Full Throttle from 2004-2007 on Wildfire 2.

In 2006, Rob became the owner of Wildfire Motorports after team owner Calvin Carrington was killed in a freak accident in Tulsa, OK.[1] Rob himself was almost involved in the accident, but he stepped away shortly before.

In 2007, Rob began driving Twisted Dragon.

In 2012, Rob and Iron Horse made their first and only televised appearances in Atlanta. He debuted Scorpion that year and ran Project X exclusively in events hosted by the Monster X Tour.

In 2013, Wildfire Motorsports folded.

In 2014, Rob drove Twisted Dragon in Nampa, marking its only Monster Jam appearance and Rob's last.

In 2022, Rob sold Iron Horse to Caleb Keyes and retired.

Trivia[]

  • Rob named his truck "Sniper" after his time in the military as a sniper.
  • Rob married Calvin's widow, Kelley Carrington, who drove Dragonfly.
  • Rob and his wife Kelley were featured in season 21 of The Amazing Race and placed 7th overall.
