Rick Disharoon (Born April 22nd, 1967) is a monster truck driver and the owner of The Metal Shop, out of Del Mar, Maryland. He was the original owner and driver of Backdraft and is the father of Ryan Disharoon, driver of Saigon Shaker/Shaker. He also owns & drives Wipeout.
Career[]
In 2000, Rick debuted Backdraft.
In 2001, Rick owned Storm for the Australian tour.
From 2002-2003, Rick owned Sandman, which was driven by his wife, Lisa. The chassis was planned to run as an Excaliber revival after Sandman's retirement, however, was never finished.
In 2004, Rick sold Backdraft to Jeremy Slifko. He retired from driving shortly afterwards.
In 2014, Ryan debuted the new Saigon Shaker truck, now called Shaker.
Rick returned to driving monster trucks in 2021 in the brand new Smokin' truck.
