Preston Pérez (born September 12th) is a professional monster truck driver of Costa Rican decent that was born in Spokane, Washington. He currently drives Culture Shock. Preston resides in Myersville, Maryland.

Career[]

Pérez originally started his driving career in Nasty Boy for Sturges Motorsports in October of 2015. He would eventually begin crewing for Vaters Motorsports in September of 2016, and later begin driving Higher Education in May of 2017.

In August of 2018, Pérez left Vaters Motorsports and later joined DRF Motorsports for the first quarter season of 2019 where he drove Tantrum, Nitro Hornet and El Matador.

Pérez returned to Vaters Motorsports toward the end of the 2019 season, where he would resume driving Higher Education.

In 2020, Pérez competed in Monster Jam Triple Threat Series Central, driving Monster Mutt Rottweiler on the Higher Education chassis. During the season, he would win a racing championship at the series' opener in Nashville. Unfortunately, the series was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Pérez made his Monster Jam return driving Higher Education in Hagerstown. He left Vaters Motorsports for the final time and joined Warped Motorsports.

In 2022, Pérez was then given the call to fill in for Team Scream Racing driving Axe in Monster Jam Stadium Championship Series Yellow due to Chris Koehler's commitment to graduating his senior year of college where he would finish 9th out of 12. During this time, he would also represent The Rod Ryan Show body for the Houston, Texas events. In May, he fulfilled his duty at Team Scream Racing and then returned to Warped Motorsports as the driver of the original Toxic. He would also get to drive Illuminator on the Toxic 2.0 chassis for two events after the Snyder's bought back the name.

Beginning in December of 2022 and into the first quarter season of 2023, Pérez would continue to work for Warped Motorsports, but would get to run the Outlaw body in select events.

In 2024, Preston drove Bone Shaker for the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live tour. He returned to driving Toxic later in the year. In Rochester, New York, he drove Skelesaurus. He drove the truck again in Greensboro, North Carolina. In December, he drove Culture Shock in Batesville, Mississippi.

In 2025, he drove Toxic for the final time on that years All Star Monster Truck Tour Championship Series, which he won. He would briefly drive Culture Shock again in March in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, due to All Star having an off week that same week. Once the All Star Tour ended in April, he left Warped Motorsports to drive Culture Shock full-time for Aimes Unleashed.
