Play'n For Keeps is a 1976 Chevrolet K10 monster truck owned and driven by Tony Canedo out of Dixon, California. The truck was created, formerly owned and driven by the late Jesse Birgy until 2006. The truck is known for its ability to easily slap wheelie.
History[]
Jessy Birgy era (1988-2006)[]
The original truck was formerly Jesse Birgy’s Michigan Ice Monster Jr. truck cleaned up and reconstructed to be a more presentable but powerful truck.
The second truck was the first truck again overhauled with a new GMC S15 body, it would alter get frame and suspension upgrades and extension before being sold and disappearing for years. It was later found and restored by Rick Romini.
The third truck was similar to the second truck after upgrades, but a more updated technological build. This truck would run for many years, and be redesigned several times, including a very narrow "skinny' body.
Birgy had claimed in an interview during the TNT era that truck is capable of producing 800 horsepower, it was also one of 4 trucks to clear the cars completely at the Kalamazoo 1989 race.
2006[]
In late 2006, Tony Canedo would buy the truck from Birgy as Birgy was retiring. Canedo would give the truck a new red paint scheme.
2008[]
Jesse Birgy would pass away.
2013[]
A teammate truck, Enforcer, would debut.
2014[]
The truck would receive another red paint scheme with a reaper. Another teammate truck would join Canedo’s fleet which would be Chuck Jordan’s Survivor.
2016[]
The truck would debut a similar scheme with bigger lettering and a new reaper as well as a new trophy truck body.
2018[]
The truck would receive a new bright green paint scheme at the World Finals XIX pit party.
2019[]
Original owner Jesse Birgy was posthumously inducted into the International Monster Truck Hall of Fame.
2021[]
The truck would debut a 4th of July paint scheme.
2024[]
The truck would re-debut the 4th of July scheme on a new square pickup body.
