Paul Breaud (born February 13th, 1968) is a monster truck owner and driver out of Airville, Pennsylvania. He is the owner of Xtreme Monster Sports Inc. and the current driver of Backdraft.
Career[]
On May 1st, 2011, Paul and Ty Cornelius founded Xtreme Monster Sports Inc.
In 2012, Paul purchased Instigator from Lionel Easler. He toured with this truck from 2012-2017.
Paul expanded his team after he bought both Backdraft and Eradicator from Andy Slifko in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
In 2018, Paul began driving Backdraft following Ty Cornelius' retirement. He also drove Bone Shaker in Canada.
On February 24th, 2024, Paul was accidentally struck by Outlaw while the truck was backing up during a Monster Truck Wars event in Marion, Ohio and was rushed to the hospital. He was listed as being in stable condition. He had to be put on a ventilator since he couldn't breathe on his own. He had to have a feeding tube because he couldn't feed himself. He is going through extensive physical, occupational & speech therapy to regain the ability to walk, talk & eat again. Paul has been making great progress.
On March 8th, 2025, Paul was seen with his wife Anne during the pit party in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, signing autographs in place of Ty Cornelius Jr. for Backdraft. Paul did not drive during this event, but Anne has stated that he may return to driving in 2026.
