Outlaw is a 1995 Ford F-150 monster truck owned by Harper Motorsports. The truck is a throwback to Nick Rossi's Jersey Outlaw truck which initially ran from 1988-1996 in its name and likeness. The truck runs on various chassis with its most popular being Harper’s Willman/Meents inspired front-engine, left-side drive chassis. Owner Michael Harper has served as the primary driver until the addition of a second Outlaw in 2020, since then, he serves as an occasional driver of the truck.

History[]

2011[]

Before its debut, the chassis would run as Bounty Hunter, before the truck would debut later in the year.

2014[]

The truck briefly ran as The Commander. Harper would go out first in freestyle at Monster Jam's Arlington show & do a crazy freestyle that resulted in 2 flat tires.

2020[]

A new chassis was built after the original one was badly damaged at the Corpus Christi, Texas Monster Truck Wars show in 2019. A second Outlaw driven by Jared Eichelberger also debuted on the former The Patriot chassis, after Harper bought both of Dan Rodoni's trucks. The original chassis was later repaired and runs as El Oso Loco.

2021[]

Jared's brother Colton EIchelberger drove Outlaw in Perry, Georgia while Jared drove The Sheriff.

2022[]

Original Jersey Outlaw driver Mike Wine drove the truck for the TNT Motorsports: Unfinished Business event. Alex Bardin starts driving a PEI version of the truck.

2023[]

In January, Harper purchased Reptoid, and Allen Pezo would run the body on its chassis before being converted it into another Outlaw. He also acquired the former Buckshot chassis would be turned into a third Outlaw.

Brandon Budd controversy[]

In March, Brandon Budd would secretly be hired by Harper and would begin piloting the truck under various aliases while driving such as Dave Woodcock and "Michael Harper". The reason for the usage of aliases was in order to prevent controversy due to his arrest for pedophilic related charges. Budd continued to drive the truck until his sentencing in December.

2024[]

Following Budd's conviction, a variety of drivers would drive the truck. Equalizer driver Preston Collins began to drive the truck in conjunction with his other truck. Travis Rife would take over driving duties of one of the Outlaws. Richie Yatsko drove the truck in Lexington, Virginia, Ty Cornelius Jr. in Kenansville, and Heavy Hitter owner/driver Derick Anson would infamously drive the truck in Marion, Ohio.

Marion, Ohio accident[]

On February 24th, the truck would accidentally run over Paul Breaud at a Monster Truck Wars show in Marion, Ohio while reversing. Breaud would be airlifted to the hospital. His condition is currently listed as stable. Anson eventually retired following the incident.

Trivia[]

  • The truck’s primary chassis is often confused for a Meents or a Willman chassis due to it looking similar in design, however, the truck is an in-house built by Harper with the top half being inspired by a Meents chassis, while the bottom half being inspired by a Willman chassis.
