Nicole Johnson (born January 16th, 1974) is a former monster truck driver out of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was best known as the original driver of Scooby-Doo! from its debut in 2013 until 2016. Prior to monster trucks, she was a professional rock crawler and competing in rock racing trials.

Career[]

Growing up, Nicole was often around cars and learned mechanics from her dad, who had her driving a go-kart powered by a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower engine when she was five years old.

At a SEMA show, Nicole met Dennis Anderson, who knew about her rock crawling career and was able to get her to test drive for him.[1]

In 2011, Johnson began driving Tasmanian Devil after Adam Anderson moved to Grave Digger the Legend when Taz was rebranded. In June, she drove Disney XD in Madrid, Spain.

In 2012, Johnson filled in for an injured Frank Krmel in the Advance Auto Parts Grinder, even finishing second in the first Young Guns Shootout.

In 2013, Nicole made her first World Finals appearance in the new Scooby-Doo!

In 2014, Nicole became the only female to have served as a guest announcer in a Monster Jam episode, being Jacksonville in this case. Later that year, she would complete her first backflip in Las Vegas becoming the first woman to land a backflip in World Finals history and Monster Jam period.

After 2016, Nicole quietly left monster trucks, and has since become a realtor.

  • She has a YouTube channel named "Nicole Johnson's Detour", which has over 200,000 subscribers.
  • Nicole and Frank's rock-crawling team number (814) was in reference to their wedding anniversary (August 14th, 1993)
