Trivia[]

  • This event marked the last of the following occurrences:
    • The last World Finals to feature feature more than two colors on the track.
    • The last World Finals, until 2018, in which a majority of the trucks would remove a majority of their bodies for qualifying.
    • The last World Finals to make both Dennis Anderson and Tom Meents the last 2 competitors come out in freestyle.
  • Dennis Anderson had to switch to Grave Digger 24 which was Chad Tingler's truck, in freestyle due to his own truck, Grave Digger 20, blowing an engine in racing, as well as the amount of time required to fully replace the engine.
  • This is the only World Finals to have the exact same racing matchup happen twice in the same year.
  • This is the only World Finals so far to have a competitor who came out first sit in the hot seat for the whole event, being Cam McQueen in Nitro Circus.
  • Spider-Man had an almost identical freestyle performance to Iron Outlaw at World Finals 9 in 2008. The first hit was off the right racing jump that caused the right-rear wheel planetary to lock up. The score was also exactly the same, that being a 4, despite lasting longer.
  • This was the second time, after World Finals 9, at the World Finals were both Adam Anderson and Jim Koehler would get DNF's in qualifying.
  • This was the second time, after World Finals 11, at the World Finals were George Balhan takes off the steering wheel and raises it through the roof hatch during donuts. The regulation score was also exactly the same, that being a 26.
    • Coincidentally, these were used both in his preceding truck and the succeeding truck.
    • Bounty Hunter also had the same regulation score as the former in the previous World Finals and also the latter in this World Finals.
  • The first two hits on the backflip ramp resulted in chassis damage. Nitro Circus broke a part of the bumper area and Brutus had a partial roof collapse.
  • Brutus driver Chris Bergeron attempted to drive through/over the backflip ramp. This resulted in a crash leading to the chassis damage mentioned above.
  • According to Jim Koehler, FELD reportedly wanted Jeremy to run a red body for Backdraft when he asked if he could run a different scheme. Jeremy would run a white body, much to FELD's chagrin.
  • This is the last World Finals to date where the winning freestyle run would not have a backflip or backflip attempt.
