Mike Hawkins (Born October 16th, 1975) is a former monster truck owner and driver out of Catlett, Viginia. He was the 2nd owner and driver of Equalizer from 2002-2018, and teammate to Red Solo Truck and Hot Tamale. He's also driven Lucas Oil Racing & NAPA from 2006-2008, Ragin Rebel from 2007-2011 and Rebel Pride.
Career[]
Mike started competing in 2001. He wanted Jim Koehler to build him a chassis, but he didn't have time. Koehler later told him that Equalizer was for sale.
In September 2002, Mike purchased the entire Equalizer team from David Morris following his retirement.
In 2005, Mike drove Stars & Stripes, which won the Route 66 kids drawing contest.
In 2006, Mike purchased a new PEI chassis for Equalizer and converted the original into Hot Tamale.
In 2010, Mike got his first and only televised appearance in Indianapolis.
In 2018, Mike retired and Equalizer was acquired by the Monster X Tour.
In 2023, Mike would come out of retirement to drive Hurricane Force on the former Buckshot chassis for a Toughest Monster Truck Tour event in Casper, Wyoming and for several other shows.
In 2024, Mike would drive Outlaw for a Monster Truck Wars show in Wingate. It is unknown if he will return full time.
