Mark Schroeder (pronounced Shrader) (Born May 13th, 1960) is a retired monster truck owner, driver and commentator out of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was best known for owning and driving Devastator, the Devastator ride truck and The Felon monster trucks. From 2008-2013, Schroeder served as a commentator on episodes of Monster Jam on SPEED (he has also commentated on some episodes of 2005).

Career[]

Mark raced drag boats, and he soon left that industry and began racing monster trucks in 1995.

In 2004, Mark finished third to Tom Meents and Dennis Anderson in Atlanta, Georgia during the freestyle competition.

Around 2007, Mark debuted his new truck, The Felon. He rotated between the two trucks.

In 2016 in Glendale, he would finish 3rd in freestyle behind Dennis Anderson's Grave Digger and Rosalee Ramer's Wild Flower.

After an injury sustained in 2018, he hired Aaron Basl to drive Devastator until he fully recovered and would split driving duties with him throughout 2019.

He would ultimately retire in 2020 and sell his entire operation to Aaron and his brother Daron.

Commentating[]

In 2005, Schroeder would commentate on some Monster Jam episodes, before becoming a full-time commentator in 2008 on the Speed Network with Scott Douglass. On the Speed episode from Orlando 2012, he called one of Neil Elliott's saves a ''360 side flip''. Schroeder would continue with this job until 2014 (although he was substituted by Chad Fortune for 2 shows in 2013), when Monster Jam moved to Fox Sports 1 after rebranding the SPEED channel that August.
