Linsey Read (Born February 7th) is a former monster truck driver out of El Paso, Texas. She most recently drove Lucas Stabilizer, but has driven Wonder Woman, as well as Scooby-Doo!, which she would win both the 2019 Showdown and World Finals freestyle championship in.

Career[]

In 2016, Read made her debut driving Scooby-Doo! in Oklahoma City, where she won a donut and freestyle competition that weekend.

In early 2017, Read would go on maternity leave until June, when she debuted Wonder Woman.

In 2018, Read returned to Scooby-Doo!, competing on the Arena Championship Series, and would end up finishing in third place and be invited to that years Showdown, where she would be eliminated in round 1. Later in the year, she drove Zombie in Santiago, Chile.

In 2019, Read once again competed on the Arena Championship Series and again finished in third. She would receive her second invite to the Monster Jam World Finals XX Showdown competition, where she won in the championship round against Soldier Fortune Black Ops. At the same event, she also won the freestyle championship, becoming the second female in Monster Jam World Finals history to do so, after Debra Miceli in 2004.

In 2020, Read competed on the Arena Championship Series and finished 2nd after the tour ended prematurely.

In 2021, Read made her stadium tour debut on the 2021 Monster Jam Stadium Championship Series on January 30 in Houston, Texas. In Arlington, Texas, she would debut the new Monster Mutt Dalmatian Galaxy truck.

In 2022, Read would once again suspend her driving duties for the birth of her second child; although she made an appearance at Monster Jam World Finals XXI as one of three professional judges. She would later return to driving in October in Monster Mutt Dalmatian on the stadium fall series.

In 2023, Read was going to continue driving the truck on Arena Championship Series East, but was switched back to Scooby-Doo! after the contract was renewed. She finished fourth and would later be invited to compete at Monster Jam World Finals XXII.

In 2024, Read was originally scheduled to compete on Arena Championship Series Central in Scooby-Doo!. However, in early October 2023, Cynthia Gauthier announced that she would temporarily step down from her driving duties of Lucas Stabilizer due to her recently announced pregnancy. Read was then announced to be the fill-in for Gauthier at the Superstar Challenge in Anaheim & on the Stadium Championship Series East, driving the Lucas Stabilizer in her place. In April, Jamie Sullivan drove in her place in Syracuse because Linsey was attending her daughters go cart race. Linsey would later be invited to World Finals XXlll in Los Angeles after finishing 8th in the final standings. She would finish 8th in high jump, lose in round 1 to Velociraptor, and finish 14th in freestyle. On May 21st, she would announce her retirement to focus on her personal life.

Trivia[]

  • Her husband, Jerrad Warhurst was an ATV rider for the Monster Jam arena series.
  • Linsey became the first and only driver to drive Wonder Woman on an American stadium tour, driving the truck during the 2017 Path of Destruction tour.
  • She is the second driver to win both a Showdown title and a freestyle title, the first being Mike Vaters II, who won the Young Guns Shootout title in 2014 and the freestyle title in 2015.
  • She was also the first ever driver to win the Showdown and win a main field championship in the same weekend.
  • She was the 2nd driver named Linsey to drive a Lucas Oil sponsored truck. Linsey Weenk was the first, who drove Lucas Oil Crusader from 2011 - 2020. The difference between the two was that Weenk is male, while Read is female.
  • When she won her freestyle championship at World Finals 20, she went out 2nd in freestyle. This is the earliest a driver came out for freestyle at the World Finals & won.
