Leslie Ray Anderson (best known as Les Anderson) (June 20th, 1959-October 12th, 2021)[1] was a monster truck driver out of Chesapeake, Virginia. He was the older brother of Dennis Anderson, the uncle of Adam, Ryan, Krysten and Weston Anderson and the driver of Texas Toy and Grave Digger 1 from 1989-1990.
Career[]
Les began driving in 1987 under Larry Cook's Texas Toy until 1989, before he moved to Grave Digger 1 after Dennis built Grave Digger 2, making Leslie the first driver other than Dennis to drive any Grave Digger. He drove this truck mainly in exhibitions, but also competed for a few events.
In 1991, Leslie started competing full time with Grave Digger 5, before he retired in 1993.
In 2019, Leslie returned to drive his new mud bogging truck, Bad Santa, alongside his brother’s truck King Sling.
Death[]
On October 12th, 2021, Leslie passed away. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Bad Santa retired as a result.
