Jesse Eugene Birgy (February 13th, 1959-May 18th, 2008) was an American monster truck driver out of Wyoming, Michigan. He was the original creator and driver of Play'n For Keeps as well as its predecessor truck Michigan Ice Monster Jr.

Career[]

Birgy began driving in 1986, when he began driving Michigan Ice Monster Jr. as a partnership with Brent Engleman.

In 1988, Jesse converted Michigan Ice Monster Jr. into Play'n For Keeps.

In 2006, Birgy retired from driving, and sold Play'n For Keeps to Tony Canedo.

Death and legacy[]

On May 18th, 2008, Birgy passed away from a heart attack. He was 49 years old.

In 2019, Birgy was posthumously inducted into the International Monster Truck Hall of Fame.
