Jamey Garner (born on May 12th, 1970) is a monster truck owner and driver out of Fortville, Indiana. He is the driver of Over Bored since 2013, and currently drives El Toro Loco in Monster Jam events. Jamey is the owner of Garner Motorsports with a fleet of five trucks. Jamey also owns Garner's Towing. He is the husband of Deidra Garner, who drives Miss Over Bored and is a father of two, the most notable being Zack Garner, who is the current driver of Wild Side. Garner is also friends with former Grave Digger driver Cole Venard, who would later join the team in 2018 as his teammate to drive The Black Pearl.
History[]
In 2013, Jamey Garner created debuted Over Bored on the previous High Maintenance chassis where they would enter competition the following year. They would be successful, most notably in Monster Truck Throwdown, where he would be crowned the 2014 season champion.
In 2015, Jamey made his first Monster Jam appearance in Knoxville, Iowa.
The truck would later be updated in 2016 with a new chassis and Chevrolet body style, where the old chassis would be converted into Wild Side, which he would move into for the time being. The truck would also run as Miss Over Bored for his wife Deidra. He would later return to Over Bored the following year. His son Zack would later take over the driving duties of Wild Side.
In 2017, after returning to Over Bored, Jamey would enter his first full Monster Jam season, competing on Stadium Series 3 where would finish 8th. Titan driver Donald Epidendio substituted for him in Anaheim for unknown reasons. He would notably debut a Stepp's Towing sponsored body in Tampa and Orlando.
In 2018, Jamey would compete on Stadium Series 2 with a new truck in his fleet, The Black Pearl, driven by his good friend and former Grave Digger driver and crew chief Cole Venard. He would finish in 8th place once again.
In 2019, Jamey would compete on Stadium Series 3. During the season, in Atlanta, Jamey would debut a Hardy Chevrolet Buick GMC sponsored body. He would also run the The Rod Ryan Show in Houston. He would finish in 9th place in the standings. Later, at Monster Truck Throwdown, Jamey would be crowned the 2019 season champion, becoming a two-time champion of the league.
In 2020, Jamey would compete on Stadium Series Red, which would infamously be canceled mid-season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the season though, he would be successful, winning the racing competition in the series opener in Anaheim (though and not be able to freestyle during said show) and later winning the freestyle competition in Tampa. Afterwards, Garner created his fifth and latest truck in his fleet, Terminal Velocity, which is currently driven by Jon Zimmer Jr, the son of Jon Zimmer, another great friend of Jamey's.
In 2021, Jamey would compete on Monster Jam's short and limited 2021 stadium series where he would finish 10th in the standings. Zack would substitute for him during one of the Indianapolis shows, due to him suffering an injury during one of them.
In 2022, Jamey competed on Stadium Series Red and finished second to last in the standings between the Tomfoolery Motorsports trucks. The final round in Minneapolis show 1 would have a Team Over Bored matchup, with Cole outsmarting Jamey, due to Over Bored crashing during the race. Mid-way through the series, he would debut a short-lived American flag design, which he would run for a few shows. He would then receive a surprising invite to World Finals XXI despite his low finish, where he ran a special blue chrome design. Jamey would run the blue body for a few post-World Finals shows. Later in the year, fans discovered an image in the source code of the Monster Jam website, revealing an edit of Jamey Garner in El Toro Loco.
In 2023, Jamey drove El Toro Loco, using the Miss Over Bored chassis because the body didn't fit on Over Bored. He would compete on the red stadium tour. He would win a few racing competitions and the skills challenge at one of the Miami shows. Prior to each freestyle, he would blow smoke at Tom Meents and then Adam Anderson. He would finish 8th in the final standings, right behind his teammate, Cole Venard.
In 2024, Jamey drives El Toro Loco on the east stadium tour, while Chad Tingler drives Over Bored on the Arena Championship East tour. He would miss show 2 in Indianapolis. He would win the skills challenge in a muddy Denver show by doing a donut. He finished 9th in the final standings. He made his high jump debut in the World Finals, as well as his Last Chance Qualifying debut. He used the yellow El Toro for high jump and LCQ. His son won racing over defending champion Tristan England in JCB DIGatron. Jamey would surprise Tom Meents with his Shake Me mud racing car. Tom's daughter also helped with it. In Kansas City, the American flag Over Bored returns. It would shoot smoke out of the hood, straight up. The two holes for the smoke are right by the window, instead of at the front of the hood were the smoke would come out of El Toro Loco's nose. In Lexington, a new red Robert's Towing & Recovery body is used. In Evansville, Indiana, he drove Over Bored at one show & Elvis Lainez drove the truck at the other. The American flag design would be used for those shows. He also debuted a new truck called The Wrecker, which was driven by Chad Tingler. It is themed after his tow trucks.
In 2025, he will compete on the west stadium tour in El Toro Loco.
