Ice Cream Man is/was a custom 1990 Chevrolet monster truck owned by Triple B Motorsports (formerly RKMT). The truck was driven by various drivers, with its most notable being Roy Pridgeon, who drove from 2014-2019. It has also been a staple of multiple monster truck leagues, including Monster Jam, and has also become a fan favorite for its unique ice cream truck-themed design.
History[]
2011[]
Ice Cream Man would be built and tested.
2012[]
The truck would enter its first full year of competition debuting at Tacoma with Scott Sweat behind the wheel.
2013[]
Sweat left RKMT and TJ Tripp would take over driving duties.
2014[]
Tripp would also leave RKMT, leaving Ice Cream Man again without a driver. Luckily, Buddy Tompkins and Roy Pridgeon would both assume and share driving duties for the season.
2015[]
Tompkins would move to Razin Kane, leaving Pridgeon as the full-time driver of Ice Cream Man.
2016[]
The truck's chassis would undergo a complete rebuild, until the truck would receive a new PEI chassis. The old one served as a backup The Xtermigator.
2017[]
Ice Cream Man competed on FS1 Championship Series West under Pridgeon. He would finish 11th.
2018[]
This year marked Pridgeon's final year of driving Ice Cream Man full-time, as both truck and driver competed on Stadium Championship Series 1. He would finish 13th in the points standings. Later in the season, the chassis would be repainted black.
2019[]
Ice Cream Man would run a limited schedule, as its original chassis would be used to run the recently introduced Wolf’s Head for the start of Stadium Championship Series 2. Ice Cream Man would run under Kristen Hope on the Razin Kane chassis for a show in Southaven, before returning to its original chassis for the final two shows of the series, with Pridgeon briefly returning to the driver’s seat. He would finish 16th. As for Wolf’s Head, it would move to Hope’s chassis.
2020[]
Ice Cream Man would run as Monster Mutt on Triple Threat Series Central with Aaron Basl driving. He would finish 7th. After the series abruptly ended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ice Cream Man would later be shelved for the time being, as its chassis would later be used to run Razin Kane.
2022[]
In December, Triple B Motorsports would purchase both the name and chassis of Ice Cream Man.
2023[]
The truck returns to competition with a new Chevrolet body. Former Monster Jam driver Joe Urie was announced to be the new driver. Later in the year, the truck starts running white rims, four link bars & shocks. In February, Kevin King would drive the truck in Winder, Georgia. In April, Urie left Triple B to join Team Throttle Monster. In May, Brett Falvey would take over driving duties. In June, Austin Spence would make his competition debut in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, sharing driving duties with Jeremiah Craine. Ice Cream Man would be put on hiatus and the chassis repurposed by Triple B Motorsports for Quad Chaos driven by Brett Falvey. Brett Falvey left the team in June & now drives for Send It Motorsports. The truck was then turned into another USA-1, driven by Rodney Tweedy until his departure from the team in mid-2024.
