Monster Trucks Wiki

Hulk (also known as The Incredible Hulk) was a 1950 Mercury Street Rod monster truck run by FELD Motorsports from 2012-2014. The truck was based off of the comic book character of the same name and ran almost exclusively on European tours.

History[]

Background[]

Hulk was originally planned to debut in 2002, as another teammate truck to Spider-Man and Wolverine. This version featured the character's head on the roof, veins on the hood, and teeth in place of the grille. (The 2012 version of the truck was similar in design, but had no veins or teeth.) This version never came to be, as the Marvel sponsorship would expire before the truck was completed. However, Hulk's body had already been made prior to its cancellation and it would instead be used for Monster Mutt.

Despite the cancellation, the truck was featured as an unlockable truck in Monster Jam: Maximum Destruction.

2012[]

Ten years later, the Hulk truck finally made its debut along with Thor in Gothenburg, Sweden with driver Morgan Kane, who would pilot Hulk for the 2012 European tour. Hulk was part of Team Marvel vs. Team Destruction in Arnhem, Holland.

2013[]

Jon Zimmer Sr. would pilot Hulk for the 2013 European tour. Hulk was once again one of the six trucks on Team Marvel for the team competitions in Arnhem.

2014[]

Hulk made it's only US appearance in Las Vegas under Carl Van Horn for the World Finals racing encore. Hulk was run on a Monster Mutt chassis, which featured the "Beggin for Bones" logo on the bottom of the chassis. Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man all performed back flips at once, with Hulk performing a consecutive backflip.

For the 2014 European tour, Hulk was run on Taryn Laskey's Monster Mutt Dalmatian chassis. The truck would be driven by Chad Tingler in Arnhem, Holland, and in Stockholm, Sweden.

Afterwards, the Marvel contract would expire, marking the truck's retirement.

Trivia[]

  • Ironically, Mattel made a diecast of Hulk in 2002 despite it being cancelled, however did not produce a diecast based on the 2012 design that ran in real life.
  • The truck was driven exclusively by full-time Grave Digger drivers. (Morgan Kane was not a Team Grave Digger driver at the time, but would later join the team in 2016)
