  • This event marked the first occurrences of the following:
    • The debut of the Q-Torque Iron Outlaw paint scheme. As well as the first fully televised appearance of Kreg Christensen in the United States since Minneapolis 1999; Kreg had made his television return in the European broadcast of San Diego 2006 beforehand.
    • The first televised appearance of Kristy Edge.
  • Although freestyle ended in a tie, Dennis, in a show of good sportsmanship, let Tom Meents keep the trophy, and added that "the next one will be his."
