Grave Digger 1 (Encore, Blue) was originally a 1951 Chevrolet panel van specialty body run on Grave Digger 12 and driven by Adam Anderson during the Monster Jam World Finals XI encore in 2010.
History[]
The artwork was designed after Grave Digger 1's second body which ran from 1983-1985, before it received the now famous "spooky" paint scheme. The truck was essentially a prototype of Grave Digger the Legend, which debuted the following year.
After the 2010 encore, the truck would receive its full name "Grave Digger the Legend" and would be run by Adam Anderson and Tony Farrell until early 2012 when the truck's body was finally changed to be a 1951 Ford panel van.
In 2017, the truck returned at Monster Jam World Finals XVIII for the Grave Digger 35th Anniversary encore and was driven by Adam Anderson on Grave Digger 27. However, like in the 2010 encore, the truck's name would simply read "Grave Digger" without "the Legend" under it.
Trivia[]
- At the 2010 encore, a fountain jump with Dennis, Ryan and Adam Anderson was planned, but Adam would roll over early, leaving only Dennis and Ryan to complete the stunt.
- The 2010 encore body featured the quote "We Ain't Bad, But The Bad Don't Mess With Us!" on the roof, a feature on all of Grave Digger 1's paint schemes. The quote would never return on any other rendition of the body.
