The 2018 Monster Jam Points Championship Series was the second season of Points Championship Series to be hosted by Monster Jam. Unlike the previous season, two additional stadium series were added to the season in place of the Fox Sports 1 Championship Series, and only one arena series would be hosted.

The first series, the Arena Championship Series, began at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina before concluding at Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. The second, Stadium Championship Series 1, began at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California and ended at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The third, Stadium Championship Series 2, began at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida and concluded in Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in Oakland, California. The fourth series, Stadium Championship Series 3, began at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana and wrapped up at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The fifth and final series, Stadium Championship Series 4, began at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario and concluded at UTEP Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas.

Team Grave Digger would win two out of five series championships. Charlie Pauken would clinch the Stadium Championship Series 2 championship after winning the overall event championship in the series' second San Diego show. Morgan Kane would win Stadium Championship Series 3 after sweeping the entire Indianapolis show. Meanwhile, Neil Elliott in Max-D won Stadium Championship Series 1 after a close battle for the series championship with Adam Anderson in Grave Digger. Lee O'Donnell in VP Racing Fuels' The Mad Scientist would clinch the Stadium Championship Series 4 championship after winning the overall event championship at the series' second show in Toronto. Cam McQueen in Northern Nightmare would clinch the Arena Championship Series championship after winning two out of three overall event championships at the series' opening show in Charlotte, while also battling with Pablo Huffaker in Grave Digger. Each series champion received an automatic invitation to compete in Monster Jam World Finals XIX.

​Trivia

• Even though four of the points championship series featured stadium events, they would also feature at least one arena event each.
• For the Arena Championship Series, each truck featured an ATV driver.
• Unlike the Stadium Championship Series from the previous year, in which only the top 8 qualifiers would compete in racing, all 14 competitors competed in racing with the top 2 fastest qualifiers getting bye-runs.
• This was also the first year to include a Two-Wheel Skills competition in both Stadium and Arena Championship Series.
• At the first Anaheim event, three trucks from the semi-finals (two winners and one loser) were unable to return for the final round. Great Clips Mohawk Warrior and Max-D both won their races, but were ruled out due to damage, and Megalodon did not finish due to a roll. Whiplash was brought back after a round two-loss to Megalodon to face Grave Digger in the finals. 
• Paul Strong drove Master of Disaster the weeks that Tom Herzog was already booked with Midnight Rider.
• Cynthia Gauthier would fill-in for Brianna Mahon at the Glendale and Houston shows for Stadium Championship Series 1, after Mahon suffered an injury following a failed corkscrew attempt in San Diego.
• Only thirteen of the fourteen trucks competed at the second Miami show, as Big Kahuna was unable able to compete due to truck damage sustained from the previous show.
• Colt Stephens was initially planned to drive BroDozer in Stadium Championship Series 2. However, due to extensive engine testing resulting in the truck's debut being delayed until June, Stephens would drive Zombie as a placeholder instead.
• Coty Saucier was originally slated to compete in Stadium Championship Series 2, with Scott Buetow competing in Stadium Championship Series 3. However, both drivers would swap series before the start of the season.
• Mike Thompson was originally planned to drive Wrecking Crew on Stadium Championship Series 2. However, he was replaced by Bad Company driver John Gordon at the last second.
