Bone Shaker is a monster truck owned by Mattel and driven by Cody Holman of Team Beast Racing out of Dayton, Ohio. It is based on the Hot Wheels car of the same name, and is one of six trucks competing exclusively in Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live. Since its debut in 2019, Bone Shaker has been primarily run on the Son of Beast chassis, but has also run on various other chassis used by other trucks, including Heavy Medal and Instigator.
History[]
Bone Shaker debuted on January 5, 2019, with Cody Holman behind the wheel. Throughout the 2019 season, Bone Shaker underwent several modifications to allow the truck to resemble its diecast counterpart. By August, the truck featured a centered cab, lengthened nose, and shortened tail. It would also be run by Paul Breaud on the Instigator chassis exclusively in Winnipeg. The following month, the truck received a redesigned skull grill.
A second Bone Shaker was added to the team for the 2020 season, being driven by Josh Holman on the Heavy Medal chassis as part of the European Tour. Cody would continue to drive his Bone Shaker as part of the North American Tour until Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live was put on hold in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the truck would be featured as part of the Hot Wheels Ultimate Drive-Thru, displayed on the Wicked chassis.
After Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live resumed operations in late summer 2021, Bone Shaker returned to competition with Holman driving. A second truck would be re-added to the team the following year, running on the American Soldier chassis as part of the European Tour. It would primarily be driven by Nic Granlund, with Terminator driver Jonathan Elkins driving the truck on select occasions. Meanwhile, Holman would continue driving his truck throughout that year's North American tour.
In 2024, Preston Perez will drive the truck, likely on the Toxic chassis. Nick Migues will drive the truck in the European tour.
