Krazy Train is a custom train monster truck owned by Bob Robbins out of Buffalo, New York. It is currently driven by his son, Triton Robbins. Since its debut in 2010, the truck primarily served as the original teammate to Robbins' truck, Aftershock, until it was sold in 2017. Since then, the truck has competed in various monster truck events with its teammate, Plane Krazy.

History[]

Krazy Train originally debuted on January 8, 2010 as the successor to Warrior, with Mark Noto behind the wheel. At the time of its debut, the truck featured a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado body style, which was used by the predecessor. Krazy Train would serve as a major competitor in the Monster Jam Freestyle Mania tour from 2010 until 2011, with Noto driving the truck until the end of the 2012 season.

Krazy Train received a new design for the 2013 season, featuring a custom train body style. Pete Robbins took over the driving duties for a brief period, as Noto retired from full-time competition. Noto would continue to drive Krazy Train for select events throughout the 2014 season. Meanwhile, several other drivers would drive Krazy Train throughout the season, including Aaron Cromer, Bill Solly, and Lloyd Twitchell, who would become the new full-time driver for Krazy Train by the start of the 2015 season.

Krazy Train competed in Monster Jam Arena Championship Series 5 in 2017. During the series, the truck won its first Monster Jam overall event championship in Lexington. Afterwards, Twitchell would retire from driving the truck, and the original chassis was sold later in the year to Michael Cole, who converted it into Nothing But Trouble.

Krazy Train received a fresh new start for the 2018 season, as the truck received a new Eddie Majka chassis, and Triton Robbins took over the driving duties. The truck would continue to compete on its own until 2020, when it received a new teammate, Plane Krazy.

In 2023, Krazy Train would compete on the 2023 All Star Monster Truck Championship Series. In Naples, Florida, the truck made a huge jump over a pond & broke off two tires. He would go on to win the Championship.

In 2024, Krazy Train will compete on the 2024 All Star Monster Truck Tour Championship Series. The truck also debuted an all new Eddie chassis, dubbed as Krazy Train 3.0.

Trivia[]

  • For the 2010 Monster Spectacular, Krazy Train featured the flag of the Soviet Union, which was probably done as a nod to the nickname "Soviet Canuckistan".
  • Beginning in 2013, Krazy Train has been equipped with a train horn, which can be sounded using a special mechanism located inside the cab of the truck.
