Dragon Slayer is a Jeep Gladiator monster truck owned by Kreg Christensen Motorsports and driven by Kreg Christensen. The truck was originally created in 1995 and competed for many years under Christensen until his initial departure from the team in 2007.
After being initially retired in 2008, the truck would remain dormant from competition, until being revived in 2017 with Christensen returning to the driver's seat and drove until his initial retirement in late 2022. Kreg returned the next year however, and the chassis currently runs as 5 Alarm.
History[]
1995[]
Dragon Slayer was originally built and debuted later that year with Kreg Christensen behind the wheel. At the time of its debut, the truck featured a Chevrolet S-10 body style. The first truck would compete for only a year.
1996[]
The second Dragon Slayer would be built the year following. The previous chassis was later acquired by Jimmy Creten and converted into the second Bounty Hunter.
1998[]
The third Dragon Slayer was built, featuring a black paint scheme and a PEI chassis. Later that year, the first incarnation of the Hummer H-1 design was introduced.
2000[]
A brand-new Dragon Slayer would debut, featuring the iconic yellow paint scheme.
2001[]
Dragon Slayer received a slightly updated paint scheme, featuring flames on the hood. That same year, the truck’s alter-ego, Dragon The Slayer, was created and began competition later that year.
2004[]
Another brand-new Dragon Slayer was constructed, featuring an updated Hummer H-1 body style and a new chassis. As for the previous chassis, it would be converted into Thunderstruck.
2005[]
Dragon Slayer received a new Tuff Country-sponsored paint scheme.
2006[]
Another paint scheme would debut, this time with a sponsorship from Lynch Hummer. Mid-way into the season, Dragon Slayer would return to using its previous chassis after swapping chassis with its teammate truck, Kaptain Insano.
2007[]
Dragon Slayer debuted yet another new paint scheme, this time being sponsored again by Tuff Country. This would also be Christensen’s final year of driving the truck, as he would depart from his very own team to join 2Xtreme Racing later in the season, leaving Dragon Slayer in control of his sons.
2008[]
Kreg's son Brian would continue to operate the truck until the chassis was sold to Barry Parkin and converted into Western Renegade, then later Buckshot.
2017[]
Dragon Slayer would be absent from competition for nine years, until 2017 when a brand-new truck was constructed, featuring a new Jeep Gladiator body style. From that year onward, Dragon Slayer would compete in various monster truck leagues, including the Toughest Monster Truck Tour.
2022[]
On November 6th, Kreg Christensen retired from monster trucks after an event in Redmond, Oregon.
2023[]
Kreg's retirement would be short lived as he would begin competing for Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live, and the Dragon Slayer chassis would run as 5 Alarm.
2024[]
The chassis competed as Demo Derby for a short period of time. However, Dragon Slayer itself has not officially run since Kreg's initial retirement.
