Douglas James Spanier (February 3rd, 1963-August 19th, 2017) was a monster truck owner and driver out of Albany, Minnesota. He was the original owner and driver of Master of Disaster and Bearly Tame. On TV episodes, his name was shown & pronounced as ''Spanion''. It is unknown why this happened.
Career[]
In 1985, Doug would debut Master of Disaster and then Bearly Tame in 1988.
In 1992, Doug served as a fill-in for Dennis Anderson for a show in Virginia driving Grave Digger 7 after Dennis was recovering from his crash in Louisville. By the end of 1992 he would sell the Bearly Tame chassis to Chad Mathison and Master of Disaster to Dave Cooke who ran it until 1997.
Spanier retired in January 2015 due to health issues. Zane Rettew would revive the Master of Disaster name in 2016.

On August 19th, 2017, Doug passed away from cancer.
