Donkey Kong was a custom monster truck that competed from 2007-2010 and was based off of the Nintendo character of the same name. The truck was driven by Frank Krmel from 2007-2009 while Kreg Christensen took over in 2010 all the way to its retirement. The truck switched between eye decals and not, and was known for the tie on the front end.

Some believe this mold was modified to create Zombie.

History

In December 2007, Donkey Kong debuted being driven by Frank Krmel in the Metrodome.

In 2008, Donkey Kong competed in its first World Finals.

In 2009, one of the first CRD built chassis was placed under Donkey Kong. The truck makes its final World Finals appearance, getting the number 1 qualifier, but getting outsmarted by Madusa In the 2nd round.

In 2010, Kreg Christensen took over as driver for its last full season on the old Team Suzuki chassis, winning freestyle in Phoenix, as Frank moved to the Blue Thunder team, and Frank's Donkey Kong chassis had been converted into his Blue Thunder. Dan Rodoni drove it in Anaheim on his The Patriot chassis.
