Detour was a slim 2006 Ford Ranger monster truck owned by Kelvin Ramer out of Watsonville, California. The truck was the teammate to his truck, Time Flys. Detour was driven by Garrett LaDelle, Rosalee Ramer, and Jeff Souza. The truck was also driven by Nathan Weenk and Kelvin Ramer as fill-ins. The truck was known for its very low stance and very slim body.
History[]
Background[]
Detour was originally built as a placeholder for Wild Flower in late 2011. The truck debuted at Monster Jam at the first Anaheim show in 2012 driven by Garrett LaDelle, who was previously driving for Straight Up Racing. Outside of Monster Jam events, the truck was driven by Rosalee Ramer, who could not compete in said league due to age restrictions.
2014[]
The truck and Rosalee would land an appearance on the Ellen show, gaining her national attention. In February, Detour would start its transformation into Wild Flower and would be completed in March. Wild Flower would be unveiled at Monster Jam World Finals XV. However, due to Rosalee not exceeding the age requirement for Monster Jam, Detour would continue to exclusively compete at Monster Jam events while Wild Flower would compete at independent shows such as WGAS Motorsports events. LaDelle would retire in 2014 and Jeff Souza would take over his place starting in 2015.
2015[]
Kelvin Ramer drove the truck at Portland 2015 show 2 and 3 due to Time Flys blowing a motor in show 1. Jeff Souza would drive Detour until September 2015, when Rosalee could finally compete in Monster Jam with Wild Flower after exceeding the age requirement in June. This would lead to Detour's retirement.
