Career[]
Madusa started wrestling the 1980's as Alundra Blayze. Debra cast the first shot in the mid 1990's of what became the legendary Monday Night Wars between WCW & the WWF by dumping her WWF championship belt in the trash live on WCW & returned to using the name Madusa. She is a multi time woman's champion. She was contacted by a friend to drive monster trucks, who had cross promotions with WCW at the end of the 1990's. The Madusa monster truck was part of the WCW sponsorship of Monster Jam that was started in 1999, but unlike the other wrestler themed trucks made by the company, Madusa was driven by its flagship sponsor, Madusa. She was trained by monster truck veteran Dennis Anderson in 1999. When taking her driving test, she drove the truck in a ditch & thought she was fired from driving monster trucks forever.
In 2000, Debra made her debut in Madusa. She would then get invited to Monster Jam World Finals 1. She would follow that up with more World Finals appearances as she made it to every WF event from 2001-2005.
In 2004, she started doing commentary for boat racing. Debra would then make history after she won the Monster Jam World Finals 5 freestyle championship, making her the first female driver to do so. She tied with Lupe Soza & Tom Meents with 31 points.
In 2005, Debra would again shock the monster truck industry by winning her second World Finals championship, this time at the Monster Jam World Finals 6 where she won racing over Dennis Anderson in a muddy event. These two championships made Madusa an instant fan favorite among other competitors.
In March 2006, Debra left Monster Jam and thus, did not get to defend her World Finals racing title. Her final show for three years would be in Jacksonville on February 25th. Two months later, she announced a partnership with Bigfoot 4x4 Racing and drove her own Bigfoot truck named Madusa Bigfoot.
In 2007, she became the Vice President of MLMT.
In 2009, MLMT was discontinued as well as Bigfoot Madusa. She then returned to Monster Jam. For the first time since 2005, Debra made it to the Monster Jam World Finals again. She competed at every World Finals from 2009-2014.
In 2014, Debra suffered an injury in Australia after a hard landing, which left her out of competition for a week.
In 2015, the truck celebrated its 15th anniversary. However, Brianna Mahon would drive the truck at the World Finals' Young Guns Shootout as Debra was attending the WWE hall of fame induction.
In 2016, Debra would be out of competition again, this time for five months with a broken shoulder. The injury was sustained when she took a hard hit after performing a backflip in Glendale, Arizona in January. She returned to competition in Nashville in June. Her final events were during the European tour.
In 2017, Debra announced a farewell tour for her last year of driving monster trucks. However, due to another injury, the tour was revised. Instead of driving, she would appear at certain events only to sign autographs at the pit party and not compete at all.
In 2020, Debra announced a return to driving with a brand new Madusa truck for a true farewell tour, however, was cut short once again, this time due to the pandemic.
