David "Dave" Tucker is the owner & driver of T-Maxxx out of Springfield, Oregon. He also owned DT - Maxxx, Open Container, and The Flying Tiger. He is known for building his truck in the style of a remote-controlled car with a fully-independent four-wheel drive suspension. His truck, even landing an appearance on Marty Garza's book, Monster Truck Technology.
History[]
Tucker started his motorsports career with circle track racing. He then moved onto motocross, drag racing, and autocross racing. He then started driving tuff trucks. He would find himself competing in his tuff truck during monster truck halftime shows which is what got him to discover the industry. At a show, after racing his tuff truck, Tucker was watching Tony Canedo drive and recognized the parts used in monster trucks. He then would decide that he wanted to build his own.
In December 2010, Tucker was scrolling through Ebay and found planetary knuckles with ball joints on the top and bottom. He would purchase four of them. The ball joints reminded him of independent suspension and his friend's RC car. This is what made him decide to create a truck with independent suspension. He would start constructing T-Maxxx around that time.
In March of 2012, Tucker would debut T-Maxxx.
In 2018, Tucker would give T-Maxxx a new look with a 2016 fiberglass Toyota Tundra trophy truck body. The body would be unveiled at the Monster Jam World Finals XIX pit party.
In August 2021, Tucker would be involved in a highway accident. The accident was caused by the hauler's brakes failing. This would cause the hauler to crash down a ravine. The crash would severely damage the hauler and truck. Tucker would face minor injuries, but his wife would face major injuries, being airlifted to the hospital after breaking 7 ribs, vertebrae, and her sternum. His niece would setup a GoFundMe page for hospital expenses and damages. The truck would then be fully rebuilt and would return to competition in October.
In 2025, he creates a new identity for T-Maxxx, that being El Taco Loco. The truck is similar to the yellow El Toro Loco, but uses a food truck body style.
