Dan Evans (born January 9th, 1963) is a retired monster truck owner and driver out of Scottsville, Michigan and best known for his long tenure as owner and driver of The Destroyer from 1998-2011. He is also the father of Deric Evans. One of his crew chiefs was the father of Tim Hall Jr. His wife & son Deric were also crew members.

Career[]

Evans's career began with a limo-themed ride truck called Limonator.

In 1998, he bought the old Blue Max and called the truck Destroyer.

In 2001, Evans and Destroyer would make his first World Finals appearance, and his only one until 2005.

In 2002, Evans would debut his signature reverse move, which he would use for the rest of his career.

At Monster Jam World Finals 6 in 2005, Evans completed the first combo move in reverse. He did a reverse move over a bus stack, then continued his reverse move over the semi-trailer before breaking the rear tire rod, which ended his run. Evans eventually finished 5th in that competition scoring a 26. He ran a yellow body on his truck for the event. He used the yellow version again in Stafford Springs, Connecticut & Birch Run, Michigan.

In 2006, Evans drove El Toro Loco in the first Ford Field show as a fill-in for Lupe Soza. For the European Tour later in the year, Evans piloted Batman.

At World Finals 8, Evans fittingly destroyed the truck with a reverse move over the double bus stack, which broke off the right rear wheel, before rolling back over on its wheels. The truck was retired. In the summer at Monsters on Mainstreet, he debuted a brand-new Ford Destroyer with a Navy battleship on it. He drove Pastrana 199 for the European Tour.

From 2007-2008, Evans drove the Jetix truck on the European Tours.

In 2009, he drove Disney XD for European events.

In 2010, he drove Backwards Bob in Costa Rica. For the European Tour, he drove Disney XD again.

In late 2011, Evans sold his Destroyer truck to Roger Stidell, and would serve as a FELD driver for the rest of his career.

In 2012, Dan served as a fill-in driver including:

After a tenure in Team Hot Wheels in 2012, he would pilot Blue Thunder from 2013-2014.

In 2013, he drove Big 105.9 Paul & Young Ron Mornings on the Blue Thunder chassis in Miami.

In 2016, he filled in for a sick Marc McDonald in Hidalgo. If you watch the trucks freestyle from that show, the announcer mentions Marc McDonald as the driver. It is unknown which is correct.

He then retired from racing and stayed behind the scenes as part of the Monster Jam international crew.

In 2018, he returned touring with the El Toro Loco display truck.
