Monster Trucks Wiki

Cowboy was a Chevrolet Silverado monster truck owned by Scott Hartsock, that ran from 2005-2009, where it served as the teammate truck to Gunslinger. It was driven by several drivers throughout its career, the most notable being Steve Reynolds and Glen Logan. With the former driver, Cowboy made it to many televised shows on SPEED during its debut season, but would appear less frequently on television in its later years, before its retirement midway through the 2009 season. In 2025, the Cowboy name would be purchased by Ricky Fowler out of Denton, Texas.

History[]

2005[]

Cowboy debuts in mid-2005. It appears at the Monster Truck Challenge event in Ennis, Montana with Frank Krmel behind the wheel. It serves as the new teammate to Gunslinger, replacing the former Obsession truck, running on its chassis.

2006[]

Cowboy goes into its debut Monster Jam season, with former Obsession driver Steve Reynolds. Steve and the truck appear on many televised shows throughout the 2006 season and even earn the racing win in Orlando against Madusa.

2007[]

Cowboy receives a minor paintjob change, as the cowboy character on the hood is replaced with a large image of just the character's head. Scott Hartsock's nephew, Glen Logan, also begins to drive the truck, sharing driving roles with Steve. Cowboy again makes the racing finals in Orlando, but falls short of winning for a second year in a row to Lee O'Donnell and Taz.

2008[]

Steve and Glen continue to share driving roles over the season, while a variety of other drivers have their turns behind the wheel. Brandon Harrington comes out of retirement to drive Cowboy for a few arena shows, touring with Scott and Gunslinger. Veteran driver Wayne Smozanek drives the truck in Miami and Gene Kerr takes his turn in Naples, Florida.

2009[]

In its final season, Glen takes over as the sole driver for Cowboy, running through the season. Cowboy runs its final event in Charlotte, North Carolina, before it is retired midway through the season.

2010[]

The truck's chassis is sold to Dave Rife and it is turned into Black Knight.

2025[]

The Cowboy name was purchased by Ricky Fowler along with the Gunslinger name and chassis, hinting at potential plans to revive the truck.
