Cory Rummell (Born March 15th, 1991) is a monster truck driver currently on hiatus out of North Jackson, Ohio. He was the driver of Rage for Team Scream Racing and has run Megalodon for Monster Jam events from 2019-2024.

Career[]

He first started by helping David Rappach in Rap Attack. His first time driving a monster truck was around 2013.

In 2014, Cory drove Spike Unleashed, however, he drove Avenger on several occasions before. Before driving, he was known for his mega mud truck "Going Deep" which was the first of its kind to complete a backflip back in 2013.

In 2015, Cory debuted Rage in July.

In 2017, Cory was invited to the Double Down Showdown where he would blow the engine in round 1. In April, he drove Avenger in Evansville.

In 2018, Cory won racing at the Sunday show in Oakland driving Pirate's Curse on the Rage chassis. He later won the Double Down Showdown after Brandon Vinson red-lighted. He would finish out the year by driving Rage.

In 2019, Cory began driving a fire version of Megalodon on Stadium Tour 3 as the teammate to Kevin King's Monster Mutt. He got 2 two-wheel skills wins in Glendale and San Diego and an overall event championship in Anaheim. He was runner up in racing in the Sunday Atlanta show to Overkill Evolution. Cory finished 8th in the final standings. He competed in the inaugural high jump competition at Monster Jam World Finals XX. He won Extreme Air of the Year & Technician of the Year at the World Finals. He drove Axe at least once.

In 2021, Cory drove MidAmerica Outdoors for one show & won freestyle.

In 2022, Cory competed on the yellow stadium tour, where he made the finals in racing multiple times, but unfortunately didn't win. He did win some freestyles, especially the two in Atlanta & one in Anaheim. In Wilkes Barre, Cory drove Jurassic Attack. He finished 5th. Cory was invited to World Finals 21, where he competed in the main field & high jump. He won the Breakout Driver of the Year award.

In 2023, Cory runs Megalodon again on his Rage chassis on the blue stadium tour, finishing 4th. In Glendale, he wins his first freestyle & overall event championship of the year. He would another overall event win at the last show of the series in Kansas City. In Cleveland, he drove Velociraptor for Travis Mowery, who retired from full time driving. He would later be invited to World Finals 22. He would also be one of the 16 competitors invited to Monster Jam's Superstar Challenge in November, however, he ran a Zombie body for the event instead of a Megalodon one.

In 2024, Cory drove Megalodon on his Rage chassis on the west stadium tour along with the rest of Team Scream. Cory finished 6th in the final standings. He would later be invited to World Finals XXlll in Los Angeles in Megalodon Fire. Cory would later depart from Team Scream later in July, with Rage being retired & converted to Mega Bite. Cory later revealed that he would be taking a break from driving monster trucks to focus on his welding business and to travel around the world. He stated that he might still do tours at times & possibly even be a fill-in driver.

In 2025, Cory would temporarily return to fill-in for current Team Throttle Monster driver Alex Bardin, who was out due to an injury during the second show of the year in Salt Lake City. In March, he appeared on Inside Monster Jam. Rummell would drive for Bardin starting in Tacoma, and ending in North Charleston.
