Monster Trucks Wiki

Blown Thunder was a monster truck created by Doug Cole out of Douglasville, Georgia and driven by him from 1996-2003. The truck was then sold overseas to Trevor Stimson who ran the truck until 2006. Though the truck has been long retired, Trevor's son, Scott Stimson, has said that his father has plans to bring the truck back in the future.

History[]

1996[]

Blown Thunder debuted on what was formerly Wayne Smozanek's Tropical Thunder.

2003[]

Doug Cole retired, and sold the truck overseas to Trevor Stimson out of Suffolk, England and Stimson campaigned it under his company, Extreme Machines. The original Chevrolet grille was destroyed in its debut U.K. season and was replaced by the GMC one seen in most photos. This version retired in 2005 and was sold on again to the Big Pete team in England and became Grim Reaper, which still runs to this day.

2006[]

Stimson began construction on a new Blown Thunder truck, which was formerly the cancelled Twisted Attitude truck, running a Dodge Ram body. The Dodge Ram Blown Thunder debuted at the 2006 Monster Jam Arnhem event. This version of Blown Thunder was short-lived however, and Stimson sold the truck once more to Viking Monster Trucks of Sweden, where it would become Thor in 2007.

Trivia[]

  • Blown Thunder appeared in an episode of Top Gear, where Trevor Stimson had to teach a Nun how to drive the truck.
  • It was one of very few trucks to have a pink chassis. The others are Muddy Girl (formerly Eradicator) and Tropical Thunder, which was converted into Blown Thunder.
  • Doug painted the body black to give the truck a new identity.
  • The truck ran in the challenge class at Truck Fest.
