Bill Payne (born December 1st, 1981) is a monster truck driver, team owner, and promoter out of Port Orchard, Washington, best known for driving Rockstar and owning his own race team, Straight Up Racing. Bill is also known for his wild and aggressive driving style. He and his team competed primarily on the Monster X Tour for nearly a decade, being one of the star performers with an extensive record of competition victories, as well as being a business partner with owner Danny Torgerson, before a falling-out with Torgerson led to Payne starting the Malicious Monster Truck Insanity Tour. His wife, Lorna, has also driven beside him in Rockstar as it is a two-seater truck.
Career[]
Bill became interested in monster trucks after becoming a fan of off-roading. He bought a Jeep after selling a low rider he owned. This led him to buy the High Voltage and Hot Stuff trucks in 2002.
In 2006, he replaced High Voltage with Rockstar. He would later debut Deal Breaker and would continue to expand his fleet of trucks.
In 2009, he briefly ran in Monster Jam, competing for only one weekend.
