Monster Trucks Wiki

Amsoil Shock Therapy (also known simply as Shock Therapy) was a custom off-road monster truck owned by Sudden Impact Racing out of Jefferson, Louisiana. It was sponsored by Amsoil, which served as a major sponsor for the team. Since its debut in 2008, the truck has been driven by various drivers, most notably Jon Zimmer, who drove from the start until his departure after the first quarter of 2012. The truck has also made two Monster Jam World Finals appearances under Zimmer.

History[]

2008[]

Amsoil Shock Therapy debuted with Jon Zimmer behind the wheel. At the time of its debut, the truck originally used a custom 2004 Ford F-150 body style, but would eventually receive a new 2003 Chevrolet Silverado body style later in the season. Sean Duhon drives the truck in Joliet, Illinois.

2010[]

Zimmer and Shock Therapy would be invited to compete in Monster Jam World Finals XI. They would be eliminated in round 3 of racing by Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger, but would tie for last in freestyle with a score of 4.

2011[]

Zimmer and the truck would again be invited to compete in the World Finals, where the truck debuted a new red and blue paint scheme for the occasion. They would suffer mechanical issues in racing, and finished 15th in freestyle.

2012[]

Zimmer continued to drive the truck until his departure from SIR after the first quarter of the season. He would go on to briefly drive for Mountaineer Motorsports before joining FELD Motorsports.

2013[]

Following Zimmer’s departure, Dave Radzierez and Jeremy Brady took over and shared the driving duties.

2014[]

After Radzierez left the team the following year, Steven Hill would replace him, and eventually become the full-time driver for Shock Therapy beginning in 2015. The truck also received a new design that same year, featuring a custom off-road body style. Roddy Fahnestock would also drive the truck.

2016[]

After SIR went into hiatus, Shock Therapy would be put into storage alongside all the other trucks of the team. The truck would, however, compete in a few shows throughout the 2016 season.

2017[]

The truck briefly competed in the Traxxas Monster Truck Tour throughout the 2017 season before retiring.
