The 2020 Monster Jam Points Championship Series was the fourth season of Points Championship Series to be hosted by Monster Jam. Similar to the previous season, three stadium series and one arena series were featured.
The first series, being the Arena Championship Series, began at Times Union Center in Albany, New York and ended at Simmons Bank Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas. The second, Stadium Championship Series Red, began at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California and ended at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The third, Stadium Championship Series Green, began at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida and concluded at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. The fourth and final series, Stadium Championship Series Yellow, began at Petco Park in San Diego, California and wrapped up at UTEP Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas.
Initially, all series champions were to automatically be invited to compete in Monster Jam World Finals XXI. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all events occurring after March 13 were cancelled, with the World Finals being cancelled on March 27. All four series champions were crowned on March 30, 2020.

Trivia[]
- Each series featured feature a different track format. Stadium Championship Series Red featured the St. Louis Style track, Stadium Championship Series Green featured the Crazy 8 Style track, and Stadium Championship Series Yellow featured the Chicago Style track.
- This would be the first time the Crazy 8 racing format was used during Stadium Championship Series Green. As of 2024, this is the time it has been used.
- This also marks the return of Chicago Style racing.
- Although the International Championship Series will not have a championship by points, it would've have an automatic World Finals invitation for an International driver, but the conditions were that the driver had to be born outside the US, and never driven in the U.S. or Canada.
- However, the idea would eventually be scrapped, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, as well as FELD letting off numerous drivers for most of the 2021 season.
- The show at New Orleans, Louisiana, was cancelled due to stadium construction/renovation.
- During the intros for San Antonio, Texas at January 18, instead of Monster Energy arriving onto the track with "T.N.T." by AC/DC playing, Avenger appeared instead, making the intro confusing. After the song ended, "Let Me Hear You Scream" by Ozzy Osbourne (Avenger's theme) started to play but it was cut short because the correct song for Monster Energy started to play when he actually showed up.
- During freestyle, each truck needs to run longer than 30 seconds in stadiums and 15 seconds in arenas. If a truck runs less than the set time, they don’t get any points or even a score.
- For the first time the Arena Championship Series does not feature ATV races. They ATV racing and obstacle course were replaced by an FMX performance. The FMX has no influence on the overall points.
- Buddy Tompkins was originally supposed to drive the new Fast Metal truck as the teammate to John Gordon's Bad Company, however due to him suffering an injury on the Green Stadium Championship Series, Brian Maes ended up taking his place.
- In the Houston Yellow Series stop, an incident happened where after a race between Earth Shaker and Zombie ended, a small piece of the body flew from Earth Shaker and went into the stands, hitting a few people; thankfully no one was seriously injured.
- During show 2 of the Worcester shows, Monster Mutt Dalmatian broke during racing and didn’t compete in any competitions during the rest of the weekend.
- As part of a new safety system, if a truck hits a safety dumpster or a venue wall they will have five points deducted from their season standings.
- The Sunday show for stadium series yellow in El Paso was delayed by two hours due to "a public security threat". After a safety check the event went on as planned.
- All events happening after March 13 were postponed or cancelled until after April 30 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The World Finals would eventually be cancelled on March 27, 2020. This would also be the first year to not have a World Finals.
- On March 30th, 2020, Monster Jam announced the rest of the series champions, and the champion interviews were done over Monster Jam's YouTube channel and were conducted by Bryce Kenny.
- Team Throttle Monster trucks Wrecking Machine and Rockwell R.E.D were originally announced to compete in the Santa Clara show, with Rockwell R.E.D making its official debut. However, due to the show's cancellation, they would instead make their Monster Jam stadium debut in El Paso the following year.
